About the AR

The flying ‘Kancil’ symbolises the cancelled future, specifically referencing the ambitious “Wawasan 2020,” which imagined a flying car realised by the year 2020. Despite all efforts, this “Made in Malaysia “ dream remains confined to the literary utopia of politicians.

Our lost futures remain unrealised, existing only in the propaganda of politicians, serving as haunting reminders of an aborted past. Mark Fisher’s notion of “Hauntology,” refers to the slow cancellation of the future. The idea of a lost future forms the very backbone of the economic narrative within this project.
